Continuing with the cause from my previous post about abandoned girls, and a Fund raiser by Siri to help one of the Ashrams working to help those girls with care and education.
Why are there so many abandoned girls you say. You will find the answer in this documentary below.
The United Nations estimates as many as 200 million girls are missing in the world today because of this so-called “gendercide”.
This documentary film tells the stories of abandoned and trafficked girls, of women who suffer extreme dowry-related violence, of brave mothers fighting to save their daughters’ lives, and of other mothers who would kill for a son.

The drink looks fabulous and I can’t wait to try it – however the video linked to the bottom just completely broke my heart. I knew of this problem in China, but was unfamiliar with it in India. Thank you for sharing it – and I will do my part too in sharing.

I am a little bored with my green smoothie…I need a perky, vibrant touch to my morning smoothie. The red color will rejuvenate my day. Great post!

You know, I’ve never cooked a beet in a pressure cooker! What a great idea! I love the roasted, but they take FOREVER! Never would have thought about putting them in a drink, either. Awesome!

Your red beet, pear and orange smoothie sounds so refreshing – and I love the fact that beets lower blood pressure in just an hour. As for the documentary – I was unaware of the “gendercide” happening around the world – I’ll definitely look into the documentary.
Nisha
