How to make your own Taco Spice blend. Easy Taco Seasoning Recipe. Adjust heat to preference.ย

Taco Seasoning is a must to have around. It is quick and easy to put together and needs just minutes and uses common spices. You can adjust the flavor and heat to preference. Adjust cumin for the earthy flavor, adjust cayenne, black pepper, pepper flakes and smoked paprika for heat. Use regular paprika for mild heat.

Ingredients used in this Taco Seasoning Recipe

  • Ground Cumin
  • Smoked Paprika. Or use a mix of sweet paprika and smoked for less heat
  • onion powder
  • garlic powder
  • black pepper
  • oregano
  • parsley
  • cayenne
  • red pepper flakes

Optional Add Ins:

  • Premade Chili powder blend: Use mild or moderate heat chili powder for additional depth of flavor
  • Salt: Add some salt so you can use the blend directly on chips or sprinkle on roasted veggies or vegan meats.

Use the spice in Cauliflower Taco “meat”, in quesadillas, with beans, roasted veggies, Burritos, Fajitas and more.

Hello! I want to use this spice to flavor red lentils and veggies (mushroom, zucchini and bell pepper) tacos I plan on making. How much would you suggest to use per cup of lentil veggie mix? I’m going to omit the red pepper and reduce the cayenne because I have little kids. Thanks! Kari

    1. Richa says:

Start with 2 tsp and add more as needed
