Cardamom Cinnamon Turmeric Iced Tea. Spiced Iced tea like Thai Iced tea with turmeric coconut milk and Indian masala chai spices and ginger. Golden Milk Iced Tea. Iced Masala Tea. Vegan Gluten-free Soy-free Recipe. Pin this post.
What do you do when its too hot but you are craving some masala chai. Make Iced Masala Chai! And then since you are a blogger, you amp it up with turmeric milk to make Turmeric Iced Tea ;).
This is a turmeric and spiced version inspired by a Thai Iced tea. Turmeric is a warming and drying spice. Too much tastes bitter and also dries one up. Use to taste preference.
Bring your tea to a boil with the masala chai spices and fresh ginger. I use my Chai Masala Spice from my book. Cool and strain. Prepare your turmeric coconut milk, Or use plain coconut milk (let me know what you loved!). Pour tea in a glass full of ice cubes. Pour some turmeric milk. Serve immediately. This tea also works great hot. Add the turmeric coconut milk in the hot tea.

- Mix the coconut milk with turmeric, cinnamon and sugar. You can also heat the milk to a boil to incorporate the turmeric and flavors better. Cool and chill until ready to serve.
- Fill glasses with ice cubes in tall glasses (2 to 3 glasses depending on size).
- Pour tea into the glasses to fill three quarters of the way.
- Pour the turmeric milk in slowly. Serve immediately. This tea also tastes amazing with just coconut milk(without added turmeric)

I thought this tea was so delicious. (I used fresh vanilla tea leaves, as that was available). I also tried it hot and loved it. To be clear, is the reason for mixing the tea and milk together at the last minute just to make it look more attractive, or is it necessary for some reason?

Do you think this would be good in a large glass container for a party of 50 people? It says “serve immediately” so I’m wondering if the coconut milk will separate from the tea over time and look bad in the glass container
Richa
I think you can make a “make your own iced tea stand” and have 2 pitchers with the tea, ice and coconut milk, and people can pour both as much as they like or just take the iced tea. That way they get a fresh drink. If you premake it the milk will blend in and although taste should be fine ( i mean eventually it will mix in peoples glasses as they drink too), its much more fun with the 2 separated flavors to begin with
Richa
the widget was picking up sweetened coconut milk, updated that and also it serves 3 to 4 rather than 2. so sugar is around 10 – 11 now.

Yum! Tea and cardamom. They are my favourite (especially when blended together like this!)

This is such a nice presentation! I love the Action shot by the way. I would prefer coconut sugar because I don’t use and industrial sugar any longer. Which tea do you recommend for a loose tea ?
Richa
Any plain loose tea will do, or even tea bags. I usually use Jivraj or lipton.

I’m not an iced tea drinker but this looks and sound delicious!! How do you think it would taste with less or no sugar?
Richa
it depends on if you are used to no sugar steeped tea. You can add no or less, taste both the tea and turmeric milk and decide before pouring into the serving glass.
Katie
For the loose tea, is it chai tea specifically, or any tea you want?
Richa
chai means tea, so it is tea. any loose tea without any other herbs will do. I use Jivraj bran which is Indian.

This iced tea looks so delicious and refreshing, Richa! I love that you used golden turmeric milk as the milk, so healthy and such a beautiful color! 🙂
