Lentil Cauliflower Burger, pictured above.

2013, the year we fell in love in Cauliflower, as seen from the most popular posts on the blog! ๐Ÿ™‚
2013, also the year I got better at food photography, had better energy to accomplish more in the kitchen, got better at being calm and controlling my anxiety. Setting up, holding still and taking insane number of pictures helped with my balance and eye co-ordination and increased confidence on the limits and predictability of my balance and eye behavior. For the back story please see my About me Section. All this after a crazy start with a 2 month bout of Sinusitis that left me incapable of standing more than 2 mins in the kitchen! that was scary.
2013 was also an amazing year for animals and animal rights. Wild animals in circus bans, Dolphinarium bans, petitions, documentaries on national tv, celebrities embracing and talking about vegan-ism, and so much more!

Even though sitting in front of a machine to edit pictures or posts, networking or other things for hours on end is not one of my favorite things, I did manage to edit an Ebook(Indian Sweets Vegan-ized), work on making the blog look better( Recipe Index) and am slowly adding up more resource pages to make the transition to a plant based diet easier. See the Indian pantry here (Lentil names, Spices etc), Our Vegan Journey and frequently asked questions here

What is in store for next year? I don’t know yet. I do not like big plans and deadlines, so 2014 right now is am empty slate that I will fill up as things come along.

For you all who read the blog, Thank you for being here, for the support, for making the recipes, for all the appreciation. I am overwhelmed by all the love!. This is what keeps me going and my creative juices flowing :). Thank you so very much. Here is to a fantastic 2014 filled with even more awesome vegan recipes, eating healthy, more progress in personal health and happiness, more progress for the animals!

Now to the Top 13..
It comes as no surprise that this Crispy Orange Cauliflower has the most visits, pins and is just about everywhere on social media.
Cara’s Crispy Orange Cauliflower. GF

This tall Burger. Tried, tested and loved by many. The burger patties are just cooked lentils and lightly roasted grated cauliflower with herbs spices and a delicious flavor punch. The patties are free of gluten, grain, soy and nut and can be served as you like! the whole burger seems like some work, but you can reduce the steps by using some pre made toppings or sauces.

Lentil cauliflower burger patty topped with roasted peppers, pickled jalapeno, cilantro, chickpea flour Onion rings, spinach and Chipotle habanero Mayo.

Try these simple Brownies posted recently to satisfy that Chocolate craving with less work. ๐Ÿ™‚  Both brownies need to be under baked for best results. Or try these Tiramisu Cheesecake Brownies that only have the last week of 2013 to get popular:)

Quinoa Shells in White garlic Jalapeno sauce. GF
This probably the easiest ever pasta sauce and super delicious too. No wonder it got so popular. Try my Pasta sauce mixes in jars for more variations.

100% Teff Ethiopian Injera. GF
This post in the top 13 is a surprise. Apparently, there arent many good Injera posts on the interwebz. A blog reader sent me an authentic Injera recipe with many days of fermentation and steps. It will need some motivation, to get me to try that when the nearest Ethiopian restaurant is 7 blocks away:)

BBQ Lentil Veggie Burger with Mango Carrot Slaw. = Summer in a Burger. with the recipe for Barbecue sauce too. Add as many veggies as you like. Rice the veggies up in a blendtec, lightly roast them, add to cooked lentils, spices and sesame seeds. Yum! this is the year of burgers and sandwiches.

If you are wondering why most of the burgers are on black background, it is not because I knew that they would look good on it (though they do look much better on black than on white), it is because Seattle is very cloudy most days and getting the dang white to look White in pictures has led me to have a few bald patches ๐Ÿ˜‰

Roasted Butternut Squash Slider with Balsamic Caramelized Onion and Sriracha Mayo.

Actually, I saw an article headline that proposed the question, “Is cauliflower the new Kale?” and proceeded to declare 2014 the year of cauliflower. You’re ahead of the game.

All of these recipes look so delicious!! You make eating vegan look like a very delicious piece of cake. ๐Ÿ™‚ The burgers especially, yum yum yum!

So many great recipes here! I love the idea of the cauliflower lentil burger. My biggest complaint with veggie burgers is that the patties alway end up so bready with all of the bread crumbs and such used to bind them together. I’m definitely going to have to give this version a try!

Oh yes, the year of the cauliflower, what a wonderful veggie! I love all of your recipes, so delicious. My favorite didn’t make the list though; Nacho Mac and Cheese Casserole with Taco Tempeh “Meat” ( https://www.veganricha.com/2013/04/nacho-mac-and-cheese-casserole-vegan.html )
My family LOVES this! I’ve also used the nacho cheese sauce for other recipes or just drizzled on stuff. It is amazing! I’ve really got to make your Doritos Spice Mix soon too.
