This super easy cup of latte is warming and perfect to sip on the cool fall evenings. Turmeric adds a golden hue, pumpkin pie spice is all things fall and nice. With the spices and frothy non dairy milk, it cannot get any more perfect. Easy, quick and delicious.

Bring water and spices to a boil. Blend or froth the non dairy milk, add to spiced water and bring to a boil. Sprinkle turmeric and serve. Add some pumpkin puree for a pumpkin latte. What is your favorite fall drink!

Some latte recipes call for adding hot boiling latte to the blender to froth before serving. I am like, yes, that is not happening. So I blend and froth the milk before heating and it works just fine.

Depending on the spices, some brand are more coarse that others, the spices might tend to settle at the bottom. if the texture is bothersome, strain the mixture before serving

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup (62.5 ml) water
  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp (0.5 tsp) or more of my pumpkin pie spice or 1/3 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp ginger, a pinch of nutmeg, optional a pinch of all spice
  • a pinch of black pepper
  • 1.5 cups (366 ml) non dairy milk I like almond milk
  • 1.5 tbsp or more sweetener of choice
  • turmeric pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

  • Bring water and spices to a boil. Simmer for a minute.
  • Blend or froth the non dairy milk and sweetener until frothy. Add to the boiling water.
  • Bring to just about a boil.
  • Pour into mugs. Sprinkle pinches of turmeric and pumpkin pie spice and serve! You can also add a dollop of whipped non dairy cream on top to serve.

Notes

Variation: add 1 tbsp pumpkin puree into the non diary milk and then froth
You can use fresh grated ginger and simmer it in the boiling water for 2-3 mins and then add frothy milk. The latte will need to be strained into the cup.
Fresh grated turmeric might add a slight bitter profile. Use lesser amount to try first.

I didn’t have all the ingredients so I ran out and got them.

This is really good. I was surprised at how it tastes like something you shouldn’t be drinking but should, if you know what I mean.

    Great job.

    Thank you, Patrick

Mmmmm since I live in a small town void of Starbucks or Dunkin, I never have developed a taste for lattes – thank goodness! But THIS, THIS looks so delicious (and easy) that I think I have a hankerin’!!! (I must be fair and say that my town has a wonderful locally owned coffee shop that can opt soy milk (!!!) and I have been known to indulge in a cafe moca now and then.

This was delicious! I tweaked it to make it refined-sugar free. Soaked 2 medjool dates in some water and blended it along with the remaining ingredients, then heated it over the stove. It was plenty sweet with the dates, no sugar needed. I used unsweetened soy milk with the only ingredient being organic soy beans. Can’t get a healthier treat that tastes so decadent!

I made this with coconut milk and wow it’s the most heavenly thing i’ve tasted in a while. Also I have some pumpkin puree I need to get rid of so i got a little creative and added a tbsp into my milk before blending/frothing it and the texture turned out just fine!!! i’ll be making this a lot more

Love it! I often find myself left out of fun drinks since i can’t have much caffeine or any alcohol. I am happy to be able to drink something cozy and tasty.
